For Coaches and Tutors
Disability Expert and Resource for Coaches and Tutors
Have you ever found yourself in the midst of a coaching session struggling to recall your client’s natural creativity, resourcefulness and wholeness or have you felt your confidence drop when it comes to coaching around themes of disability and independence?
While the heart of the matter is almost always universal, coaching and tutoring around disability and independence can become particularly elusive and complex when going from the big picture vision to practical application.
As a coach with a disability, we can provide addition support by:
• Providing consultation to coaches and tutors on moving their clients from vision to forward movement.
• Giving individuals or families beginning steps to go from large picture visions to tangible actions.
• Making the possibility of independence real and concrete.
• Giving specific examples of success and challenges.
• Offering a non-judgmental space to ask questions they would never have had the opportunity to ask before.
• Seeing the possibilities so that individuals and families can believe it for themselves.
• Asking the questions other coaches and mentors would never think to ask.
Drawing on thirty-plus years of life experience with a disability, Barton has faced the whole gambit of life adventures. As such, I bring total confidence in knowing that disabilities are only opportunities for exploration and creativity.
In addition, Megan brings extensive knowledge to tutors working with clients who have a disability.
Consulting sessions for coaches are up to an hour. Full day and half day mentoring sessions are also available for families and coaches alike.
For more information on coaching plans and pricing, call Barton at (919) 741-4876 or Megan at 919-389-6423 to discover how we can help you work with your clients! Barton has a rather unique (and thick) accent from Cerebral Palsy, so when you call please be patient.
