Bringing my new computer home, I was filled with excitement and relief. Sitting at my desk, I turned the power button on. The keys glow on the keyboard- I am in awe.
Within minutes, I am filled with questions, How do I do this? How do I do that? Filled with questions, Barton finally had to tune me out because I was incredibly getting on his nerves. Finally, I ordered The Missing Manual, a resource book over 900 pages, filled with detailed information.
I cant learn fast enough. A new computer takes time- to figure out the programs, the layout, transferring files, learning how to manipulate it to accommodate your needs. It has taken several weeks to settle into my new computer, learning about the programs, customizing it and how to make the program work according to the projects I need to accomplish.
For a writer, losing data or access to a computer is losing the job. It was a difficult winter, but spring has arrived. And the morning is glowing, like the trees after a rainstorm.
