I have been teaching a workshop entitled Haiku as a Spiritual Writing Practice, and the issue of judgment has come up recently. Leaving the judgment card at the door is difficult to do, and usually it has more to do with judgment of self than judgment of others. |

On July 25, 2008 Randy Pausch lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. His famous “last lecture” entitled ‘Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams’ at Carnegie Mellon, became a national bestseller. When I read his story, I was at the bookstore and could not put it down. Tears streamed down my face, touched by his inspiration, dedication and humor. From Randy's talk and words, we have been inspired to dream a littlre more, worry a little less. |

This weekend, I worked on a project I had left off of my schedule for some time. Since it was a personal endeavor, I ended up sliding it at the bottom of the to do list day after day. There were more important projects to work on, ones that would build clientelle and pay the bills. Yet this writing project had always been there- nagging at me. |

A couple of weeks ago, I received my first speeding ticket- ever, since I began driving. The worst part was I wasn't on the highway, which I admit I usually drive faster than I should. I was around the corner from our house.
